Bronze sculptures – Jean-Marc de Pas – Photo credits Jean-Marc de PasExhibition to discover in the gardens
Jean-Marc de Pas is a Doctor in Philosophy of Art and Art Sciences who began working as a sculptor in 1989. In his work, he seeks to reproduce the harmony of lines, grace, and the expression of an internal state of being. For 25 years, he has produced a number of monumental works that have been displayed in public places. He prefers to work in clay, as it is malleable; his works are then produced in bronze or composite materials.
A landscape artist at heart, he sees outdoor sculpture as part of a whole: at the age of 21, he inherited the Château de Bois-Guilbert, where he has had the space and freedom to express his relationship to the universe. His dream was to create a huge garden of sculptures to showcase his family home; the sculpture garden at the Château de Bois-Guilbert is his major work as an artist. Seventy sculptures are displayed along a poetic, symbolic walkway. An inhabited garden… a way of sharing his passion for nature and sculpture; sculpture as a meeting point for the real and the spiritual, for matter and spirit, the artisan and the philosopher; nature as an ally, helping man develop his intuitions.
In the summer and autumn of 2016, the Sun Garden will be the setting for a series of his bronzes representing the four seasons. Four odes to nature, to be admired by visitors as they walk through the gardens.
Exhibition organised in collaboration with the association Le Jardin des Amoureux.
